Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh, who claimed that the international best-seller “The Da Vinci Code” plagiarised their earlier work “The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail,” have had their case thrown out by the Court of Appeal.
The pair claimed that novelist Dan Brown had breached their copyright by basing the novel on themes in their book.
The decision is no surprise, as in 2006 the High Court held that the pair’s claim was ‘utterly without merit’.
Publishers Random House, were awarded the costs of the appeal, estimated at £300,000. The total costs for Baigent and Leigh’s ill-fated action are estimated at nearly £3m.

We would like to thank you for the superb work and attention to detail that has gone into our dispute with the council so far!
