Owners of valuable trade marks will be pleased to note that protection of their marks in Europe has become cheaper. The EU's Internal Market Commissioner recently announced that application and registration fees for Community Trade Marks are to be reduced, so that the cost of registration of a Community Trade Mark is reduced to €1,000 from the previous €1,600.
